Jan Mackie BSc(Hons), BArch (Hons), RIBA.

Jan Mackie is the founder of Building Design Workshop. An experienced 'all rounder', Jan brings to the Workshop over 26 years experience of working on UK and international projects that range from major airport and infrastructure schemes and high-quality office headquarters to educational facilities, hospitals and private homes.

Jan studied at the Welsh School of Architecture, in Cardiff where she gained her Bachelor of Architecture with distinction before becoming registered as a chartered RIBA Architect. Jan continued with her career working for some of the world's best Architects such as Richard Rogers Partnership, Nicholas Grimshaw and Partners, Hopkins Architects and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. A selection of the projects Jan worked on are illustrated below and further information on these can be found on those companies websites (double click on the images below).

Along the way, Jan also undertook other commissions, sometimes with other Architectural companies, such as Sheppard Robson, and these projects formulated the start of the Building Design Workshop.
